"A painter of and through nature," as Dennis Drogseth described him in 1979, Emmet Edwards was born in Iowa and educated at The Art Institute of Chicago,where he had his first exhibition of paintings. He lived in Woodstock, NY from 1933 until his death. Edwards' work remains in the collections of The Museum of Modern Art and The Museum of Non-Objective Painting, among others.
